A new program-page template using the existing Biology copy

The purpose of this pilot is to improve structure, usability and visual consistency while preserving current undergraduate program content until in-house rewriting is ready. The live Software Engineering page supplies the main visual component reference. The Live the Truth manual and Figma library guide presentation; they do not authorize replacing existing narrative with new marketing copy.

Copy preservation is the current phase. All five main descriptive paragraphs and all four program-highlight passages from the existing Biology page are retained. Both destination/job lists are retained in full. Paragraphs are moved into the new components; headings and functional interface text are distinguished from program narrative. A future in-house rewrite is a separate editorial phase.

Legacy alumni/faculty feedsNot migrated into this pilotThe legacy page includes cross-discipline records. These are dynamic modules, not rewritten Biology narrative. Production needs the correct program relationships and current people.

How the brand applies now

Brand implementation is primarily visual: the university logo, manual palette, Bennet/Objektiv typography, full-width centered photo hero, blue in-page menu, green inquiry panel, blue Quick Facts, arched images, gold accordion rules and restrained circular typography. The circle hides at ≤900px and does not animate under reduced-motion preferences.

New promotional headlines from the previous draft have been removed from the core narrative. The original Catholic identity, service, formation and mentoring language remains. New headings such as “Biology Admissions Process” and degree-selector labels serve navigation or interaction; they are template interface copy. The in-house rewrite can later introduce the approved admissions soundbites, supporting messages and program-specific proof through an explicit editorial review.

Institutional directive: structure now, evidence development later

Directive requirementCurrent template responseRemaining editorial work
First screen and next actionProgram title, real lab photo, inquiry button, section navigation and near-top Slate form.Approve production image/crop and conversion priority. A distinctive opportunity headline belongs to the later copy phase.
What students doExisting research, course, fieldwork, internship and medical-service passages.Confirm current availability, eligibility and selection; add named student roles and dated results.
Who invests in studentsExisting faculty-mentoring copy and department route.A named mentor and student-change example are not yet implemented in the preserved-copy page.
Where it leadsExisting careers paragraph and destination/job lists.Validate legacy outcome figures and add approved dated graduate evidence. Do not treat old percentages as newly verified.
Faith shaping the disciplineExisting Discover God’s design and Catholic faith in action passages.Add an approved first-person example of a specific disciplinary decision or practice.
Practical next stepsCatalog, admissions, aid, scholarships, support, visit and inquiry paths.Validate the live Slate submission, matching, major capture, routing, confirmation, consent and attribution.

This template supports one part of the directive. It does not complete the broader homepage, parent journey, campaign variants, proof publishing process, pilot selection or 90-day rollout. Visual and structural implementation does not establish an enrollment effect.

Currency and evidence review

The existing 70% research-participation claim, 90% medical-school acceptance statement and 14:1 ratio are carried over as existing copy, not revalidated facts. Context notes flag the two outcome figures on the page; review notes flag all three. Confirm source, scope, cohort, denominator and reporting period before production use. Confirm the current status of courses, travel, internships, shadowing and service opportunities as well.

Supplemental proof parked for the rewrite

The previous draft’s research story, graduate trajectory, Dr. Kuebler feature and Dr. McKenna example have been removed from the core program page. They remain here as editorial candidates, clearly separate from migrated copy. They require program relevance, factual review, rights and approvals before publication.

Slate and template integration

The supplied form c8b3b8fa-3c0d-4b9a-b8d2-32db4945b268 loads after a BA/BS selection. BA passes 3c23e555-63c3-40aa-97d1-749509b5ced5; BS passes 32a4fa84-7d25-45ac-ad47-b162ca4ead9a as the anticipated-major option. Hidden/read-only configuration remains in Slate. Changing degrees reloads the form and clears input, with an advance warning. No test inquiry has been submitted.

The production template should use the shared university header/footer and approved WordPress/ACF fields. The manual green #21412A is retained here; reconcile it with the web documentation’s #21421A for shared production tokens. Admissions, curriculum and support controls contain functional helper copy rather than new Biology marketing narrative.
